Police: 2 Women And Man Dead In Multi-state Murder-suicide

Two women are dead in Pennsylvania and a man is dead in Illinois, following a suspected murder-suicide, authorities said on Wednesday.

According to a Pennsylvania State authorities report, the inquiry began in Hillside, Illinois, when authorities were contacted in response to a man reporting two women deceased in Jackson Township, Pennsylvania. Police claimed that when officers arrived in Hillside, about 15 miles west of Chicago, they discovered that the man had died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

After identifying him, troopers said Hillside officers called Jackson Township police to seek a welfare check at the man’s residence on Dior Drive, roughly 30 miles north of Pittsburgh.

Police said authorities forced entrance into the home and discovered two ladies dead from apparent gunshot wounds. Investigators suspect the two women were family members of a guy who committed suicide in Illinois.

Pennsylvania State Police say they have taken over the case and are “actively investigating” the circumstances surrounding the three deaths.

Police declined to reveal any identities, citing the ongoing process of formal identification and notification of next of kin. KDKA learned that the victims were a husband, wife, and their daughter.

“At this time, investigators believe there is no ongoing threat to the public, and law enforcement is not searching for any additional individuals in connection with this incident,” police wrote in the public information release report. “This remains an active and ongoing investigation.”

On Wednesday, state police did not provide any additional information but indicated more would be released as it became available.
