A Wyoming man was detained this week for allegedly possessing pornographic material involving children, according to the Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
Uriel Duran-Parra, 29, of Wyoming, faces charges of aggravated child sexual abuse and using a computer to conduct a felony.
The inquiry was launched after it was discovered that Duran-Parra was exchanging files containing child sexually harmful content on the internet, according to an MSP post. The Wyoming Department of Public Safety assisted with the investigation.
Duran-Parra was charged with one case of severe child sexual abuse and one count of computer-related felony. He was arraigned in 62A District Court on Monday, February 23.
The MSP Computer Crimes Unit encourages parents to talk to their children about safe internet use.
