A person was discovered dead near an on-ramp on Interstate 70 early on Sunday morning in Washington County.
According to the Washington County Coroner’s Office, a tractor-trailer driver called 911 shortly after 4 a.m. to report what he believed to be a person lying in the road on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 near the Chestnut Street on-ramp in North Franklin Township.
When first responders came, they discovered the victim and learned that they had been hit many times by multiple vehicles.
The initial inquiry presumes that the victim was a pedestrian.
The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating, and the victim’s identity has not been revealed as the coroner’s office awaits identification and notification of next of kin.
