Body Discovered Amid Search For Nancy Guthrie On Sunday

A woman’s body was discovered amid the ongoing search for Nancy Guthrie on Sunday, March 8. At this point, it’s unknown who was discovered and whether the body is connected to the ongoing search for the “Today” host’s mother.

The woman’s body was discovered beside a canal in Phoenix on Friday, March 6. According to reports, the body was located on Sunday, March 8.

The woman is an adult female, according to the California Post.

The woman was found dead at the scene.

“Details on the call indicated that an adult female was on the nearby canal bank and was unresponsive,” the Phoenix Police Department said in a statement. “When officers arrived, they located the woman, who was ultimately pronounced deceased on scene.”

Authorities have yet to reveal any other details about the remains. Meanwhile, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department told FOX News Digital that they had not yet received any information on whether the body was connected to the Guthrie case.

Meanwhile, Savannah Guthrie made a statement earlier this week, thanking everyone for their thoughts and prayers.

Hopefully, she can be found soon.
