Detectives with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Organized Crime Division VICE Unit found a missing juvenile and arrested two Houston women on child trafficking charges following an investigation on March 9.
According to police, investigators investigating the missing juvenile case discovered online advertisements on illicit prostitution-related websites depicting the minor alongside an unidentified adult female.
Investigators contacted the individuals involved and scheduled a meeting at a local Montgomery County hotel.
Deputies tracked down the suspects’ vehicle, where they discovered two adult females and the missing minor. The two women were later identified as Norma Lewis (20) and Niasia Harrell (20), both from Houston.
Lewis and Harrell were detained and charged with child trafficking, which is a first-degree felony. Both were taken to Montgomery County Jail without incident.
The sheriff’s office stated that the minor was safely found, got medical attention and support services, and was released to his or her parents.
