A Baltimore City woman received more than a thoughtful surprise when her daughter gave her a pair of Maryland Lottery scratch-off tickets. One of the tickets led to a $50,000 top prize winner!
Elona Logan stated that on March 5, while collecting the prize at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore, her daughter purchased two $5 20X the Cash tickets from the US Fuel station at 6100 Moravia Park Drive in Baltimore and brought them home as a gift.
The mother and daughter are both regular lottery players. Elona said she usually plays draw games like Pick 3, whereas her daughter enjoys scratch-offs.
After failing on the first ticket, Elona moved on to the second, where she instantly realized something peculiar was happening. She gave the ticket to her daughter, who confirmed the exciting news.
“I was like, ‘Wow, $50,000!'” her daughter explained.
Elona stated that she had problems believing what she was seeing.
“This can’t be real,” she remembers thinking.
The retired social worker was accompanied by her daughter as she accepted the medal, which was her largest ever.
Elona stated that she intends to utilize the money to settle her finances and may set aside some for a family gathering.
“I’ll take them out to dinner,” she announced.
Elona, full with excitement, also offered advise to other participants.
“Just keep playing,” she replied. “A $5 ticket grossed $50,000. “You never know.”
US Fuel will earn a $500 bonus for selling the grand prize-winning ticket.
20X the Cash, which debuted in January, offered seven $50,000 top prizes, three of which have yet to be claimed.
