Maryland Couple Wins $4M Mega Millions Prize

A Montgomery County couple from Silver Spring recently claimed a $4 million Mega Millions victory by replaying a combination of numbers created by a fast select ticket that did not win the previous week.

The $5 ticket matched the first five numbers in the Mega Millions drawing on March 10 but missed the Mega Ball, earning the second-tier prize. While the prize has a base value of $1 million, the ticket includes a 4X multiplier, bringing the total winnings to $4 million.

According to MD Lottery, the couple, who wished to remain anonymous, stated they play Mega Millions on a daily basis and opted to utilize the same numbers after the prior ticket did not win. They claimed they intend to utilize the prize money to buy a new home. The winning ticket was acquired at the Giant grocery shop on 13490 New Hampshire Avenue in Colesville. The Maryland Lottery will pay the retailer a $2,500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
