New York man wins $5M on lottery scratch-off prize

A Brooklyn resident has won a $5 million top prize in the New York Lottery’s $300,000,000 Cash Payout scratch-off game.

Adam El-Asha chose to receive his winnings as a lump sum payment of $3,061,207 after required withholdings, rather than in installment payments.

El-Asha purchased the winning ticket at Tang’s Amber Mini Mart in Brooklyn.

One more $5 million top prize is still available in the $300,000,000 Cash Payout game. To check the status of any New York Lottery scratch-off game, players can obtain the Game Report from nylottery.ny.gov.

In fiscal year 2024-2025, scratch-off games earned over $4.3 billion in total purchases for the lottery. Lottery Aid to Education funds totaled $1.4 billion for school districts in New York City’s five boroughs during the same time period.
