A traffic stop on Interstate 40 in Arizona last week resulted in the seizure of 447 pounds of cocaine.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a trooper stopped a white minivan in Kingman on March 11 for traffic violations and detected signs of criminal activity when speaking with the driver.
A search of the van was carried out, and many tightly wrapped parcels were located behind rugs in the trunk, according to DPS. After additional inquiry, officers learned that the packages reportedly contained cocaine.
The driver and a passenger were apprehended and placed into Mohave County Jail. According to DPS, the cocaine load was worth an estimated $12.1 million on the streets.
