Jefferson City Man Apprehended With 97 Fentanyl Capsules Charged With Drug Trafficking

A Jefferson City man who was apprehended last year with over ten grams of fentanyl is charged.

Deamon Hogue, 44, was charged on Tuesday with second-degree drug trafficking and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

The charges stem from a traffic stop in May 2025 in which a Jefferson City police officer stopped Hogue for running a red light. The officer knew Hogue and was aware of his narcotics history. Hogue refused to allow the officer to search his vehicle.

A K9 was called to the site and revealed that narcotics were in Hogue’s vehicle. A search yielded 97 fentanyl tablets and straws soaked in fentanyl traces.

According to court records, Hogue is a persistent drug offender with three past convictions for controlled substance distribution.
