Texas Woman Facing 37 Felony Theft Charges Released On Bond Following Months On The Run While On Parole: Report

A repeat offender with 37 felony theft offenses was taken into custody after allegedly being on the run for months and released on bond.

Dequavia Denise Rogers, detained on March 13, was charged with 11 felony offenses when she was booked into the Harris County Jail in Houston, Texas, according to jail records.

Her 11 additional felony accusations include several counts of theft under $2,500, one allegation of theft over $2,500, and another of theft.

According to FOX 26, Rogers has been charged with felony theft 37 times, most of which occurred within the last year.

Rogers, who had been on the run for months, was released from jail after Judge Nata Cornelio set bond at $75,000, according to the site. According to jail records, Rogers has been released.

Rogers, 31, was on parole for a separate felony when she was caught and placed into jail on March 13.

According to Andy Kahan, director of victim services and advocacy at Crime Stoppers of Houston, repeat criminals such as Rogers should face harsher penalties.

“You have to have consequences for habitual thieves,” Kahan told Fox 26. “It’s not happening in Rogers’ case.

“While on parole, she receives four felony theft charges. The same thing applies to shoplifting beauty products.

In September 2025, Rogers was accused of theft four times.
