Police: Man Arrested For Shooting Grandmother After Argument Over Allowance

Arlington police said a 21-year-old man is facing murder charges after arguing with his grandmother over his allowance.

Rontrell Jackson has been charged with one count of murder.

Officers responded to an apartment complex on Carriage House Circle around 4:40 p.m. Friday, a family member discovered a 68-year-old woman unresponsive on her apartment patio. The woman was discovered to have been shot. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

Detectives stated the woman and Jackson had a “heated argument” that resulted in Jackson losing his allowance money.

Jackson acknowledged shooting the woman inside the apartment Friday morning and dragging her body to the patio, according to detectives.

Jackson was booked into the Arlington City Jail.

Police reported finding a handgun, believed to be the weapon used in the shooting, inside the apartment.

The woman’s identity has not yet been revealed.
