Troopers find 100 pounds of meth during roadside DOT inspection

Indiana State Police troopers found 100 pounds of meth during a roadside DOT inspection over the weekend.

Troopers made the discovery on Saturday, March 21st, at approximately 4:20 p.m. on Interstate 70 near Cloverdale, Indiana.

According to Fox59, police first stopped the commercial vehicle for a roadside DOT inspection to guarantee compliance. Officers saw “criminal indicators” when interacting with the driver during the check. These factors prompted a probable cause search of the truck.

Officers then searched the truck and found 100 pounds of methamphetamine inside the trailer. The street value of the contraband is believed to be around $500,000.00.

The truck driver, 33-year-old Kemar Brown of San Bernardino, California, was arrested and transported to Putnam County Jail. He is facing allegations of possessing and distributing methamphetamine.
