A woman was apprehended in Utah last week in connection with a December 2024 fatal collision in Arizona that left three people, authorities said.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS), deputies from the United States Marshal Service apprehended Amy Lynn Mickelson, 48, outside a convenience shop in Salt Lake City on Thursday, March 19.
Mickelson was arrested on three charges of second-degree murder, seven counts of severe assault, two counts of felony endangerment, criminal damage, and aggravated DUI.
She is being held without bond until her extradition to Yavapai County, according to the DPS.

On December 7, 2024, at about 2:15 p.m., DPS Vehicular Crimes Unit detectives responded to a fatal collision on southbound US 93 northwest of Wickenburg.
Detectives decided that Mickelson was intoxicated when she collided head-on with a Toyota Sienna minivan after crossing the center line in her BMW sedan, according to DPS.
Three of the minivan’s occupants were confirmed dead on the scene, while four youngsters aged 5 to 16 were sent to a nearby hospital with critical injuries.
According to DPS, Mickelson went to Utah after the fatal incident and began residing there.
