A man was sentenced after deputies found nearly three and a half million dollars’ worth of cocaine in his vehicle, according to a Florence County Solicitor’s Office press release.
Miguell Angel Valazquez, III, 41, of Florida, was sentenced to 25 years in the South Carolina Department of Corrections for cocaine trafficking and 5 years for possession of a weapon during a violent crime, with the sentences to be served consecutively.
On March 31, 2022, the Florence County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Enforcement team stopped Valazquez near exit 171 on northbound Interstate 95.
After searching his car, they discovered 57.6 pounds of cocaine and $66,000 in a compartment inside. They also discovered a firearm.
Officials stated that Valazquez will not be eligible for parole owing to the narcotics charge.
