A felon who has been convicted 54 times was apprehended again in Central Florida.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office recently apprehended a 54-time convicted felon after local detectives found he possessed a firearm.
Deputies recently called to a residence in the 12900 block of Gordon Road in Riverview, near Tampa, in response to a reported barricaded subject, 54-year-old Kenneth Allan Smith.
During the inquiry, deputies discovered that Smith had called a witness and made many threats.
Deputies also determined that Smith had been convicted 54 times, including many prior violence charges and a previous sentence for being a felon in possession of a handgun.
Detectives discovered that Kenneth Smith had guns in his bedroom. A domestic search order was acquired and executed, revealing that Smith possessed a handgun.
Smith was arrested without incident after the HCSO Gang Unit noticed him leave the residence. Smith was charged with one count of resisting without violence and one count of felon in possession of a firearm.
Local law enforcement officials say the inquiry is still ongoing.
