New York man apprehended after police seize $38,000 in suspected drug money

Officials with the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency said they seized over a pound of illegal drugs at a house in Portland.

Officials stated they were investigating the interstate cocaine trafficking.

Raymond Teran, 51, of New York, was seen coming and going from an Airbnb on Emery Street, according to investigators.

After obtaining a search warrant, authorities say they discovered more than a pound of cocaine, crack, and $38,000 in suspected narcotics money.

Tehran was arrested and transferred to Cumberland County Jail, where he is being held on a $50,000 bail, according to authorities.

He has been charged with drug trafficking, illegal possession of drugs, and manipulating physical evidence.
