Suspect apprehended on felony warrants after allegedly squatting in vacant business

A suspect has been apprehended on felony warrants after the Reno Police Department claims they were spotted squatting in an empty shop.

Around 8:00 a.m. on March 25, RPD officers were dispatched to the 5000 block of Smithridge Drive for reports of someone illegally inhabiting the roof of what used to be Once Upon A Child.

They allege that property management has detected unusual activities on the roof in recent weeks. After around an hour, police were able to contact the culprit and take him into jail.

The unnamed suspect had previously trespassed on the property and was wanted for a felony in California. He informed investigators that he had been residing in the wall space for approximately six months.

He is currently facing several counts.
