A former aide to Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur has pled guilty to wire fraud after withdrawing more than $20,000 from the representative’s bank account to cover her bills.
Courtney Hruska entered the plea on Tuesday.
While court documents do not identify the victim, records say Hruska worked for Kaptur from 2015 until 2022.
After leaving that job, she kept the representative’s credit card and bank account information and used it to pay off her credit card amount on multiple occasions.
Hruska is due to be sentenced in June and faces up to 20 years in jail.
