2 people arrested after large drug bust in Alabama

A drug bust led to two arrests in Conecuh County, according to the Evergreen Police Department.

According to authorities, on April 2, the department’s Narcotics Division, along with the Investigations and Patrol Division, executed a narcotics search warrant at a property on Wild Avenue in Evergreen.

During the investigation, officials recovered various narcotics and related goods, including 100 grams of cocaine, 40.56 grams of crack cocaine, and 14.93 ounces of marijuana. Authorities also discovered 1.7 grams of a fentanyl-methamphetamine mixture, 1 gram of MDMA, THC vape pens, and other suspected drugs.

According to investigators, further goods seized included a 9mm Taurus handgun, a digital scale, and $698 cash.

According to police, Joe Nathan Rankins, 40, and Candace Patrice Crosby, 37, both of Evergreen, were arrested in connection with the case.

Crosby is accused of putting a child in danger with chemicals, according to authorities. Rankins is charged with trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to distribute, unlawful possession of controlled narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, chemical endangerment of a child, and attempting to evade.

The investigation is underway.
