A woman who attempted to sell more than 1.5 pounds of fentanyl pills in Arizona was sentenced to nearly three years in prison last week, authorities said.
Geraldine Aboyte previously pleaded guilty to one count of attempting to sell a narcotic drug, a Class 3 felony, according to the Arizona Attorney General’s Office.
In June 2025, Aboyte was charged with four counts of drug conspiracy. Humberto Martin Osuna Jr., a co-conspirator in the case, faces 27 counts.
Prosecutors say Aboyte attempted to sell approximately 1.6 pounds of fentanyl pills to a third party in April 2025.
Last Wednesday, a Pima County Superior Court judge sentenced Aboyte to 2.75 years in jail. She was also ordered to pay $4,500 to the state’s anti-racketeering fund and $2,800 to the Arizona Department of Public Safety to cover investigative costs.
“Fentanyl is killing Arizonans, and my office will hold those who sell these deadly drugs accountable,” Attorney General Kris Mayes said in a press release. “There are serious consequences for trafficking illicit drugs in our communities.”
