A 59-year-old man is dead after a shooting early Tuesday morning, according to Cleveland Police.
Officers rushed to the 11700 block of Cromwell Avenue just after midnight after receiving a report of shots fired. Officers were on the scene conversing with people when they learned of a man shot in a vehicle, according to authorities.
When officers arrived, they found the 59-year-old on Parkview Avenue, and EMS brought him to a local hospital, where he was declared dead, police said.
According to police, the preliminary investigation shows that an accused suspect locked himself in a neighboring residence on Cromwell Avenue.
The Cleveland authorities’ SWAT squad arrived to the Cromwell Avenue residence and cleared it, but the suspect could not be found, authorities said.
The shooting is currently being investigated, and no other details are available at this time.
