According to the Maryland Lottery, a Takoma Park man won the $100,000 top prize on a scratch-off ticket purchased late at night at the 7-Eleven on 9151 Riggs Road in Adelphi.
The player, who frequently purchases scratch-offs, stated that after playing several games, he concluded the ticket was a winner and later confirmed the award using the Maryland Lottery app.
The winner, a father of four, claimed his award about two weeks later. He informed lottery authorities that he intends to utilize the proceeds to buy a home in Guatemala and help family and friends. The store who sold the ticket will get a $1,000 incentive. The “$100,000 Crossword” game debuted in August 2025, with nine top prizes, two of which are still unclaimed.
