Houston suspect Kevin Faux apprehended in Louisiana for capital murder of pregnant Ashanti Allen

The Houston man accused of killing the mother of his unborn child has been taken into custody in Louisiana after a manhunt.

Houston police confirm that officials of the United States Marshals Service arrested Kevin Faux in Jefferson Parish on Monday. He is accused with capital murder in the killing of Ashanti Allen, who was 23 years old.

Faux will be extradited back to Harris County.

Missing woman found dead

Allen was discovered dead on Thursday after being reported missing six days earlier.

She was last seen on April 10, leaving her residence near McNee Road and Main Street.

She was eight months pregnant and in a high-risk pregnancy when she went missing, according to investigators.

On Thursday morning, Houston police and Texas Equusearch recovered Allen’s body near Chimney Rock Park in southwest Houston.

Police in Houston later identified Faux, the father of Allen’s unborn child, as the culprit in her death.

Court documents reveal heartbreaking details

According to court documents, Allen was discovered dead with a string around her neck.

Court filings also state that on April 10, Faux called someone and showed them Allen’s body over Facetime.
