2 people taken into custody following drug bust in Georgia

The Ben Hill County Sheriff’s Office reports that two people have been arrested because of a months-long drug investigation.

Authorities claimed deputies from the sheriff’s Special Operations Division, along with Fitzgerald police, conducted an operation on April 22 in the 500 block of East Pine Street.

Two Fitzgerald residents were arrested and charged with several felonies, including cocaine trafficking.

During the operation, officers seized roughly 34 grams of cocaine, more than three ounces of marijuana, several schedule tablets, digital scales, packing supplies, and an undetermined amount of US dollars.

The investigation is underway.
