A woman was apprehended after allegedly using a fake ID to withdraw nearly $10,000 from a bank account, according to authorities.

On April 22, 2026, deputies from Constable Mark Herman’s office responded to a report of fake identity in the 3800 block of Atascocita Road. When they arrived, they discovered that a female suspect had used a Texas driver’s license with her photo but another person’s identity to take around $9,980 from the victim’s bank account.

The suspect was identified as Maygan Cooper. Cooper had an ongoing larceny warrant from Ellis County, and a criminal background check found previous theft-related convictions.

“Maygan Cooper was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for the open warrant and charged with Felony Theft and Tampering with a Government Document. She is awaiting bond out of the 263rd District Court,” stated Constable Mark Herman.
