Missouri Man Gets No Prison For 2025 Stabbing

A Lawrence County man charged with stabbing another man five times will not face prison.

On Friday, Tristian Byrne, 21, pled guilty to first-degree assault. Following the plea, Judge Alan Blankenship sentenced Byrne to 90 days of shock detention in the Lawrence County Jail and five years of probation.

Officers from the Aurora-Marionville Police Department detained Byrne in April 2025 following a confrontation between him and Jason Long, 43.

During the altercation, Byrne produced a knife and stabbed Long five times. Long has recovered from his injuries.
