Jackpot claimed after winning $60M Mega Millions ticket sold in Ohio

A Mega Millions jackpot worth $60 million was claimed a month after the winning ticket was sold in Van Wert, according to the Ohio Lottery.

Last week, the Ohio Lottery announced that the Happy Trails Trust, represented by Shaun A. Putman, Esq., had claimed the prize. The winner chose the cash option of $30 million.

The Ohio Lottery stated that the trust will receive $21,975,000 after paying 26.75% in state and federal taxes.

On St. Patrick’s Day, I purchased the ticket at Tyler’s Short Stop. The merchant will receive a $60,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

The winning numbers for the draw were 4, 11, 18, 38, and 50, with a Mega Ball value of 24. The winning auto-pick ticket matched every number. The winner had 180 days to claim the jackpot.

Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m.
