A man and woman from Miami were arrested Thursday on several cocaine-related offenses, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. The arrests follow a drug sting that allegedly involved the selling of three ounces of cocaine.
Antonio Alvarez, 72, and Marlen Sanchez, 52, both of Miami, Florida, have been charged with trafficking cocaine and unauthorized use of a two-way communication device.
In addition to these new allegations, Alvarez is facing two additional cocaine trafficking charges from a previous, unrelated case.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the arrests were the result of an investigation into the suspects’ alleged sale of three ounces of cocaine to undercover officers.
Alvarez and Sanchez are now being incarcerated at the Monroe County Jail.
