Police: Trio Charged After Armed Carjacking In Englewood

Three suspects have been charged after police say they carjacked a woman at gunpoint in Englewood earlier this month.

The suspects were apprehended on June 8 in connection with a vehicle hijacking that occurred less than an hour before their detention, according to police.

The incident happened on the 600 block of West 63rd Street, in a parking lot of an Englewood business.

The female victim informed investigators that when she parked and got out of her car, a man approached her, brandished a gun at her, and demanded her keys, authorities said. Police say the suspect fled the scene in her vehicle.

Police found the stolen vehicle after conducting a citywide robbery enforcement effort.

The three suspects fled the vehicle but were apprehended by Chicago Police and Illinois State Police. The vehicle contained three guns.
