Two men have been sentenced to life in prison in separate human trafficking cases in Douglas County, with prosecutors hailing the convictions as “significant victories” in the fight against trafficking and protecting vulnerable victims.
In the first case, Anthony Santiago, 50, was found guilty of enticing a 14-year-old runaway outside a grocery shop with the false promise of transporting her home. Instead, investigators claim that he detained the youngster against her will and sexually molested her several times. The victim eventually escaped and called the police.
