Two young men were killed in a head-on collision early Friday morning, according to a news release from the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office.
At around 4:04 a.m. on Friday, July 4, 2025, a call titled “Automatic Crash Notification” was received by the St. Croix County Emergency Communication Center from a cell phone. The phone was tracked to the 2200 block of County Trunk Highway (CTH) DD in Baldwin Township.
Deputies arrived and discovered a two-vehicle accident. A 2012 Chevrolet Cruze was heading westbound on CTH DD when it collided with a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox traveling eastward.
Both vehicles sustained extensive damage.
One driver was an 18-year-old guy from Emerald, Wisconsin. The second driver was a 24-year-old guy from Baldwin, Wisconsin. The St. Croix County Medical Examiner pronounced both drivers, as well as the only occupants of each car, dead on the site.
Both persons’ names will be disclosed following official notification to their relatives.
The St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office received assistance from the United Fire Department, Baldwin Ambulance, the St. Croix County Highway Department, and the St. Croix County Medical Examiner.
This occurrence marks the fourth and fifth traffic fatalities in St. Croix County in 2025.
