4 People Injured In Early-morning Drive-by Shooting

Chicago police say an investigation is underway after four people came into a West Side hospital overnight with gunshot wounds from a nearby drive-by shooting.

According to Chicago police, while the exact location of the shooting is unknown, officers were dispatched to Mt. Sinai Hospital just before 2 a.m. Saturday after receiving a report of many walk-in gunshot patients.

Following a preliminary investigation, investigators concluded that the victims were sitting in a parked car in an unknown location when a dark SUV drove past them and someone inside opened fire on their vehicle.

Officers reported that four men, aged between 25 and 33, sustained gunshot wounds. Three of the guys were eventually hospitalized in serious condition, and the fourth was listed in fair condition.

The cause of the shooting is now unknown, and no arrests have been made, according to police.

An investigation into the shooting is still underway.

The second shooting with numerous victims occurred overnight. Just hours before, a shooter opened fire on a crowd in the Back of the Yards, injuring seven people.
