An unlicensed driver from Mexico was apprehended near Magnolia Plaza in The Villages.
At 9:40 a.m. Thursday, an officer examined the license plate of a blue GMC Sierra near 7-Eleven in Magnolia Plaza, according to an arrest record from the Wildwood Police Department. He discovered that the registered owner, 40-year-old Hector Ramirez Trejo, only had a valid ID card, so he halted the vehicle near Magnolia Plaza.
The officer then approached Ramirez Trejo, requesting his driver’s license, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance. Ramirez Trejo indicated that he did not have a license and had never had one. The officer requested any kind of identification, but he had none, according to the report.
Ramirez Trejo was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without a legal license. The Mexican native was taken to the Sumter County Detention Center and then freed after posting a $500 bond.
