Landover Man Apprehended For Girlfriend’s Death While Under House Arrest For Domestic Abuse

A 32-year-old man from Prince George’s County, Maryland, was charged with the murder of his girlfriend over the weekend, according to county police.

According to the Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD), Harry Lindsey of Landover has been charged with the fatal shooting of 29-year-old Sharita Cristwell of Bladensburg.

Court documents acquired by 7News show Lindsey was wearing an electronic monitoring “ankle bracelet” at the time of the murder. On June 16, Lindey was accused of assaulting Cristell, but a court ordered her release to home detention.

At 3:35 p.m. on Saturday, July 5, PGPD officers responded to a complaint of a shooting inside an apartment in the 700 block of Stretford Way, Landover.

Officers pronounced Cristwell deceased at the scene.

Police say the suspect, Lindsey, fled the area following the shooting.

Detectives were able to determine Lindsey’s whereabouts using security video provided by the Metro Transit Police Department. He was apprehended by the PGPD’s Fugitive Unit on Sunday morning in Capitol Heights.

Police suspect Lindsey shot Cristwell during an altercation. He is charged with both first- and second-degree murder. He is currently in the custody of the Department of Corrections and has no bond.
