A 35-year-old Milwaukee woman will serve 28 years in prison for her role in a hit-and-run crash that killed one person and injured another.
The crash happened on September 22, 2024, near 76th and Good Hope.
Stephanie Sykes, according to authorities, was driving at high speeds when she collided with two sisters. Talise Dunmore, who was 20 years old, was one of the victims who died in the crash.
Sykes’ blood alcohol concentration at the time of the crash was .081, according to investigators, and she has previously been convicted of OWI.
Sykes apparently informed officials that she was “blacked out” during the collision.
In court on Friday, July 11, a judge condemned Sykes to 28 years in jail.
