Child Sought In Amber Alert Discovered Dead In Ticonderoga

A child who was the subject of an Amber Alert overnight was discovered dead in Ticonderoga, according to New York State Police.

Before 10 p.m. on Saturday, Warren County 911 received a call from a man reporting his 9-year-old daughter missing and potentially abducted near I-87 Exit 22 in Lake George.

Police identified the girl as 9-year-old Melina Frattolin and the caller as her father, 45-year-old Luciano Frattolin of Canada.

Investigators say they discovered contradictions in the father’s account of events and timeframe.

On Sunday, search crews discovered the girl’s body in Ticonderoga.

Police said there is no evidence of an abduction and no threat to the public.

State police are scheduled to give additional details regarding this case on Monday.

The Amber Alert was issued about 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning, roughly four hours after police reported the toddler missing.

The Amber Alert was canceled at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.
