On Thursday, Harris County Constable Precinct 4 deputies responded to a report of a man sleeping behind the wheel of a vehicle that had stopped in a moving lane of traffic on the 8000 block of N Sam Houston Parkway. The individual, Sterling Bonton, was discovered to be armed, necessitating a further inquiry, according to Harris County Constable Precinct 4.

Deputies from Harris County Constable Precinct 4 discovered Sterling Bonton sleeping in a truck and woke him. He refused to undergo a field sobriety test, so deputies got a blood warrant to determine his intoxication. According to a statement from Harris County Constable Precinct 4, during the inquiry, they discovered he possessed a loaded gun and an open misdemeanor warrant.

The Harris County Constable Precinct 4 Facebook page said that Sterling Bonton was detained and charged with driving while intoxicated and unlawful carrying of a weapon. Deputies apprehended him before any incident occurred, and County Court 16 set his bond at $200.
