Police in Anne Arundel County arrested a 19-year-old driver and a 14-year-old passenger after a traffic stop discovery of drugs and a weapon.
On July 18, around 7:55 p.m., an officer observed a gray BMW driving erratically and weaving through traffic at high speeds near Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard and Cedar Cliff Drive.
The officer located the vehicle on Clara Circle and conducted a traffic stop.
According to police, the rear passenger escaped on foot into a forested area with a rucksack but was immediately apprehended by responding policemen.
Officers were assisted by a police K-9 unit in recovering a backpack containing roughly 320 grams of suspected cannabis, a loaded 9mm Smith & Wesson handgun, an extended magazine, and a false car registration plate.
The driver, 19-year-old Bruce Edward Dent III of Severna Park, Maryland, and his 14-year-old juvenile passenger were detained and charged.
