A member of the Board of Governors at Metro Community College was detained on Tuesday.
According to authorities, Adam Gotschall was apprehended during the board meeting Tuesday night.

According to an Omaha Police Department spokesperson, Gotschall was arrested on a warrant for a traffic offense. This was validated with the MCC Police.
According to Washington County officials, Gotschall remained in detention for 14 minutes before being released on a personal recognizance bail.
At the meeting, board members planned to vote on a resolution to condemn Gotschall and request that he resign from the board. We are working to determine the reason for the resolution.
MCC has confirmed to First Alert 6 that Gotschall declined to retire during the meeting on Tuesday.
Board members are elected for four-year terms. Gotschall began serving as a congressman for District 3 in 2021 and is now scheduled to serve until 2028.
According to the MCC website, the board “governs the college, sets policy, approves the budget, and determines the local college tax levy.”
According to documents, the bench warrant was issued for failure to appear in Washington County Court on July 2 for driving without a valid registration.
