An Otter Tail County woman is sentenced to 74 months in prison after pleading guilty to third-degree murder in the death of a man she sold fentanyl to.
Kaitlyn Carroll of Elizabeth, Minnesota, was charged in October 2024 with providing drugs to a man hours before he was found dead. According to court filings, they discovered a discussion between Carroll and the victim on his phone regarding Carroll’s sale of 0.3 grams of fentanyl.
In June 2025, she pleaded guilty under a plea deal.
Carroll will now spend her term at the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Shakopee, receiving credit for 281 days served.
