A Corinth woman was sentenced to 30 years in prison, with ten to serve, Following a multi-county investigation into a series of fraudulent checks passed at local businesses in Booneville and Corinth.
According to the Booneville Police Department, the Criminal Investigation Division initiated an investigation in March 2025 and identified Catrina Denise Timbes, 38, of Corinth, and James Arthur Timbes, 36, of Booneville, as suspects in the fraudulent operation. Catrina Timbes was apprehended with the assistance of Corinth Police and eventually pleaded guilty to various crimes in Prentiss and Alcorn counties.
She was sentenced to pay compensation to all victims and convicted of the following charges in Booneville:
- False Pretenses at a business on East Church Street (March 17, 2025)
- False Pretenses at a business on North Second Street (April 16, 2025)
- Conspiracy to Commit Fraud at a business on East Church Street (April 28, 2025)
- Her 30-year sentence includes 20 years suspended, leaving 10 years to serve in prison.
