Corinth Woman Sentenced To 30 Years In Prison For Series Of Counterfeit Check Schemes In Booneville And Alcorn County; Co-suspect Still Wanted

A Corinth woman was sentenced to 30 years in prison, with ten to serve, Following a multi-county investigation into a series of fraudulent checks passed at local businesses in Booneville and Corinth.

According to the Booneville Police Department, the Criminal Investigation Division initiated an investigation in March 2025 and identified Catrina Denise Timbes, 38, of Corinth, and James Arthur Timbes, 36, of Booneville, as suspects in the fraudulent operation. Catrina Timbes was apprehended with the assistance of Corinth Police and eventually pleaded guilty to various crimes in Prentiss and Alcorn counties.

She was sentenced to pay compensation to all victims and convicted of the following charges in Booneville:
