In high school, dances are something everybody anxiously awaits. Whether or not you go is up to you but its still something almost every high school girl and guy think about at least once throughout the school year. But the dance is full of other choices like who you ask and what to wear, how to ask and if they will say yes. But if they do say yes do you need to plan a day date? There are so many steps to going to a dance that I bet your thinking, Its too complicated I don’t want to go. But the first step is asking and we’ve got a list of fun and clever ways to ask your crush to awkwardly attend a dance with you out of guilt, or maybe because they actually like you. (But they probably don’t).

   If you’re looking for a sweet and simple way to ask your dream date, you could take some ideas from this clever high school student who asked their crush with some sweet soda. If you want to use soda to ask you could also use Crush orange soda and write something like, “It would crush me if I didn’t go to homecoming with you”. Or if they aren’t a fan of orange soda, you could get a case of mountain dew and a sign that says, ” Dew you want to go to homecoming with me?” No matter what soda you decide to use, your crush is sure to enjoy it.

 This clever kid surprised his date with a blockade of solo cups, with a clever pun like that how could you say no? If you are too lazy to set up this many solo cups you could also drag a good friend of yours to help set it up. If you wanted to make it more personal, you could just take a couple of solo cups and fill them with your crush’s favorite candy and write out ” Don’t make me go solo to homecoming/prom/sadie’s without you.”

 If you’re looking for looking for a saucy way to ask your crush, this is a spicy way to accomplish that. Don’t be cheesy and ask with a pizza, be saucy and ask with some taco bell. However it is recommended that you get them actual taco bell food instead of just sauce because people are happy when they are eating so they’re more likely to say yes to going with you.

 This promposal is sure to brighten anyone’s day, and its a really cool way to ask the date of your dreams. Using christmas lights and getting the permission of the parent of the person you want to ask to lay out on their yard is a fun and creative way to ask. If you wanted to scare them into going with you, you and a friend could also hide in the darkness and wear all black to surprise them. Im not saying its the best way to ask, but it is a way you could ask. Especially if the person you want to ask likes scary movies and halloween.

Is your date into sports? If they are then this is sure to win their heart and would definitely earn you a few points with them. You could also write out something like “Don’t play with my feelings, it would feel like a score if you went to Prom with me.” If your date can take a joke you might also want to gather a few friends to help ask and all of you and your friends could go to the person you want to ask while they are practicing or just finished with practicing and continuously throw balls at them while another friend holds a poster that say “Prom?” on it.

I went around the school interviewing people about their high school dance experiences, I asked one student how they got asked and she said, “He put root beer and a carton of vanilla ice cream on my porch and spelled out,” will you float over to homecoming with me?” In straws.” I asked another student( senior, Natasha) how they would like to be asked and their response was, “I think it would be cool to get asked with a pizza or something even though that’s cheesy”

It might seem a little too late to ask your dream date to the dance but as long as you give them about a week to five days to prepare a response and get an outfit to wear to the dance, you should be fine. Though the earlier you ask them the better. Also, when responding to someone who asked you, you’re going to want to think of a clever way to respond in a similar way to how they asked. Such as, if you were to get asked with something to do with soda or candy, you’re gonna want to respond with soda and candy.

All of these fun proposals are easy to do, cheap and sure to make your crush say yes.  And these don’t have to just be for prom, you could also use them for girl’s choice, senior ball, and even homecoming. Its not too late to ask your crush all you need is a plan and some courage, and possibly several balls to throw at them. These prom-posals don’t even have to be for your crush. If you don’t have a crush and want to go with your friend or go stag (without a date) that can also be very fun with a group of friends.  You could even just casually suggest it to a good buddy and make them go with you. And if you don’t have any friends, its okay to ask a stranger. You can always get to know them at the dance. But if you go with a stranger, I suggest joining in on a group of couples.
