13-year-old apprehended after attempted robbery in Northwest DC

A 13-year-old boy was detained in connection with an attempted robbery that occurred in Northwest D.C. on June 11, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

According to MPD, officers responded to allegations of a robbery attempt in the 700 block of Florida Avenue NW.

The victim reported that three boys approached them and demanded money. One of the boys suggested that he had a weapon on him, but the victim escaped uninjured.

Police claimed the suspects fled without snatching anything.

MPD says the 13-year-old was apprehended on Thursday, July 25, and charged with attempted robbery.
