Utah State vs BYU

Karissa Benson, Sports Writer

There has been a huge rivalry between the two colleges, Utah State University and Brigham Young University, dating back to some of their first games in the 1940’s.

The competition between the two schools extends far beyond the football field, wedging it’s way into family arguments and slight wars between friends. These arguments seem to be strongest in Utah.

Especially since people seem to think that you can’t be a fan of both. The flames between the two colleges have been fed, especially considering the fact that there is a huge football game between USU and BYU at Utah State University on Friday 29, 6 PM.

In honor of this, I decided to talk to both a USU fan and a BYU fan.

I first talked with Bekah Bryner, a USU fan, she told me they’d win, “to put it nicely, they [BYU] are going to get creamed.”

She told me a tradition of hers was to always wear her USU shirt on game day and watch from home.

I next talked with a BYU fan. He told me BYU was going to win, because they are having a better season.

When asked about the USU fans, he gave a polite response of, “I respect them.”

It seems both fans of both colleges think that their teams will win.

Be sure to tune in on CBSS to watch! And if you want to see it in person you can go online to StubHub! and get some tickets.

This game is sure to be amazing. Make sure you don’t miss it!
