Cincinnati police are looking into the shooting of a transgender woman who ran for help two blocks away and dialed 911 from an Over-the-Rhine store.
According to Sgt. Phillip Buccino, the incident began around 2 a.m. on Wednesday near Hanna Park in the 200 block of Stark Street.
She requested assistance from a pizza business that was still operating near the 200 block of Stark Street, where police say she was shot in the neck and leg.
According to authorities, she was found there with gunshot wounds to her neck and leg.
She was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover, according to Sgt. Buccino.
There were no arrests, and no suspect information was disclosed.
Police also did not specify what prompted the shooting.
