A mother and her daughter were apprehended on theft charges at Target’s Rolling Acres Plaza in The Villages.
Lauren Bridges, 25, of Fruitland Park, was in the store on Tuesday night when she took a shopping cart and went down many aisles picking out products, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.
Meanwhile, her mother, Lisa Bridges, 54, attempted to distract the store’s customer service workers. Bridges went outside, collected some reusable shopping bags, returned to the store, and placed her purchases in the bags. She left the store with $113 worth of products for which she had not paid. She was arrested on a charge of theft.
Officers discovered that Bridges’ mother had been charged with a different retail theft offense. Lisa Bridges was arrested on a Lake County warrant issued in the case.
Both women were arrested and brought into the Lake County Jail.
