In our last contest we mentioned that the winner would get to sit on the Spirit Couch at the homecoming game. I thought that it would be a good idea to sorta explain what the Spirit Couch is and why it is so great.

First I should start with answering the question that I have been asked the most, What is a Spirit Couch? Well the Spirit Couch was donated by a nice family for us to use during our contests. The Couch is painted our school colors and will be used as a prize to any winners, including their friends, of contests that we as the newspaper staff put out. This will be a fun and exciting way to show that we have school spirit. When you win whatever challenge we have given to you, we will put out the Spirit Couch for any home games that we have. Football season is coming to an end so the next big home games that the couch will be out for is basketball. If this becomes a big enough thing then it will make an appearance more often than not.

Next question is, Where will the couch be at the games? We will place the couch somewhere where no one is allowed to go. For example if it was a football game we would put it at the end zone so that you can have a view and experience that no one else will get. When you get the opportunity to sit on the couch we will also ask you to sign a part of it. Our goal with this is that the couch will become a school tradition and that a lot will get the opportunity to sit on it and that the names will eventually fill every inch of the couch.

It is a simple concept but we want to create a tradition. We want to create a legacy and through our school spirit, we will be able to have evidence in years to come that Ridgeline is the best school out there. Thank you for helping us spread our school spirit.
