The California Highway Patrol (CHP) apprehended a motorist on DUI charges after a hit-and-run collision with a semi-truck.
According to the Coalinga Division of the California Highway Patrol, a white Hyundai was involved in a hit-and-run collision with a black Peterbilt truck and trailer on July 30.
Following the incident, the Hyundai was seen driving southbound on I-5, just south of Manning Avenue.
CHP reacted and found a vehicle that matched the suspect’s description and was going at speeds greater than 100 m.p.h.
A high-speed traffic stop was undertaken, and the female motorist was arrested without additional incident.
After an investigation, the motorist was charged with DUI and hit-and-run.
“This rapid response and teamwork by our officers prevented further danger to the motoring public,” said CHP.
